In the immortal Eagles' classic hit 'Take It Easy', Michigan's Glenn Frey sings that he was 'standing on a corner in Winslow Arizona' and now thanks to a pair of Arizona DJs, he will be there forever.

The problem is, someone was already there.

"Well, I'm a-standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win, though we will never be here again
So open up I'm climbin' in, so take it easy" -- Take It Easy, The Eagles

The Eagles hit was sung by Glenn Frey, so Mark Devine and Paul Marshall of Phoenix radio station KLSX thought that in remembrance of Frey, who passed away earlier this year, it might be a good idea to put a statue of Glenn on a corner in Winslow. They raised $22,000, and the statue was erected. Many stories covered the event.

"We thought a statue would be a great way to pay tribute to his everlasting impact on Arizona's history," Devine said in a statement. The statue was unveiled during last weekend's annual "Standin' on the Corner" music festival.

Why is his hand not touching the pole? That's messed up.

The other thing that is messed up is that there is a statue that bears more than a passing likeness to the man who wrote the song, Jackson Browne, who hung with the band back in the day, standing just out of talking range of the Frey statue.

Browne is still very much alive, and since they were great friends, shouldn't they be next to each other, so they can hang out for eternity? It's sad to see them so far away from each other...

Weirdly, I found this photo of a guy who looks kind of like Glenn, hanging out with the Jackson statue. Spooky, right?
