Big names old and new headed the list of Golden Globe Award nominees for both films and televison. The Globes, which are voted on and awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, are generally thought of the precursor to the more popular Academy Awards and Emmy Awards.

New names like Aziz Ansari, Amy Schumer, Remi Malek, and Paul Dano found themselves in the spotlight alongside time honored names like Al Pacino, Jane Fonda, Jennifer Jason Leigh and even Judith Light (remember her? anyone? Bueller? Bueller?)

Angela Bassett, America Ferrera, Chloë Grace Moretz and Dennis Quaid have just announced the nominations for the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards, which will be held January 10th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and broadcast live on NBC. Ricky Gervais will host. Denzel Washington will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
