"Not Gettin Hassled, Not Gettin Hustled"
-From the theme to the TV show "Good Times"

That's the latest TV show to get the big screen treatment. Or at least thats the very crappily-kept rumor around Hollywood these days. Good Times, the social relivant hit sitcom from the mid-70's, spent 5 season on CBS' nighttime lineup. The spinoff from "Maude" was one in a stable of hits created by Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin. "All in the Family" and "The Jeffersons" made Lear a very wealthy man.

The Huffington Post's story "'Good Times' Movie: 1970s Sitcom Getting Big Screen Treatment From Scott Rudin" Tells of other 70's sitcoms maybe coming to a theatre near you.

""Good Times" is far from the first classic TV series to get the big screen remake treatment. Nicole Kidman starred in a "Bewitched" movie, Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway starred in a "Get Smart" film and Jonah Hill's "21 Jump Street" movie was a success. On the small screen, there have also been plenty of reboots: Vince Vaughn was working on a new "Brady Bunch" for CBS, CBS found success with a reboot of "Hawaii Five-0," but ABC's "Charlie's Angels" remake crashed and burned."

Personally, I'm pretty sure this means Hollywood has officially run out of new and original ideas for movies. If they are going to redo's like this, "All in the Family" would be much more interesting...All this Good Times movie will be is a character of the original. (ala "The Brady Bunch Movie" franchise) Im sure Jimmy Walker will get some kind of cheap laugh cameo, like Bill Cosby in the "Fat Albert" movie from a few years ago.
