Grand Rapids Area Teams Continue To Roll In The State Football Playoffs, Here’s This Weekend’s Schedule
The State High School Playoffs enter the quarterfinal stage this weekend, with the Grand Rapids area well represented with six teams still in the title picture.
If you add O-K Conference teams from Zeeland and Muskegon, and that number grows to ten.
Here's this weekend's schedule of the State High School Football Playoffs.
Division 1: Hudsonville at East Kentwood, Saturday 1:00pm. These two teams battled for the O-K Red title, with East Kentwood squeezing out a 35-28 win in the regular season.
Division 2: Battle Creek Lakeview at Muskegon Mona Shores, Friday 7:00pm
Division 3: Petoskey at Muskegon, Saturday 1:00pm
Division 3: Lowell at Zeeland West, Friday 7:00pm. The West Dux looked untochable until Stevensville took them to the limit last week. Lowell has lost only once this season.
Division 4: Whitehall vs. Grand Rapids South Christian (at Byron Center High School Field), Friday, 7:00pm. The Sailors are led by one of the state's best quarterbacks, Jon Wassink.
Division 5: Reed City at Grand Rapids West Catholic, Friday 7:00pm. The West Catholic Falcons have rolled over everyone in their path this season, have they peaked at the right time. Reed City should be a good test.
Division 7: Watervliet vs. Grand Rapids North Pointe Christian (at Forest Hills Eastern High School Field), Saturday, 1:00pm
Division 8: Mendon at Muskegon Catholic Central, Saturday 1:00pm. Catholic is the odds on favorite to win the division, but Mendon has a strong tradition of playoff football.
