Grand Rapids is home to many amazing people, organizations and landmarks. The Meijer Majestic Theatre, home to Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, is being recognized as one of the "most incredible theaters in Michigan."

Best of Michigan says the venue is "not only a major piece of Grand Rapids history but also a way to generate the history of tomorrow."

There is no doubt that GRCT's Meijer Majestic Theatre is an important part of Grand Rapids history. Think of all of the growth in downtown Grand Rapids over the past 25 years, then think about which venues were in Grand Rapids before the building boom began.

GRCT has been at its current location since 1979. In 2006, the venue underwent a major renovation making it a premier place to see events in downtown Grand Rapids. Events have included hundreds of GRCT performances plus the ArtPrize awards, TEDxGrandRapids, theatre camps and much more.

The Meijer Majestic Theatre provides an excellent space to celebrate our talented local theatre. It also provides a place for celebrations, thought-provoking talks and more.

Riviera Theater in Three Rivers topped the list while Detroit's Fox Theater filled the final spot at number nine. The list seems to place an emphasis on the history of the location.

GRCT recently announced their 2017-18 season which includes Annie, My Fair Lady, School of Rock, Seussical the Musical and more.
