If you’re a single mom, you already know that there’s usually more month than paycheck.  Finding a place to settle down where you’ll make enough money to provide a good life for your kids is even harder. That’s what makes this list from WalletHub disappointing for Grand Rapids.

WalletHub looked for the most suitable cities for single moms and their family. They compared 150 of the largest cities in the U.S., setting up a scoring system that looked at 17 categories that make a good place for single-mom families to live including plentiful job opportunities, childcare that is highly ranked and affordable, and income that is livable for a single parent family.

Grand Rapids landed number 109 out of 150 cities for most suitable for single moms, putting us in the bottom 50 of the worst cities for single moms.

In comparison, Scottsdale, Ariz. ranked 1st followed by Madison, Wisc., Fremont, Cali., San Francisco,  and Seattle rounding out the top 5.

Luckily, we did beat Detroit by quite a bit as they landed number 148 out of 150.
