So I commented last week on the John Ball Zoo having a construction projection going on... Well,  guess what? It's for a A new railway which will offer a bird's eye view of the city. Very Cool! I wondered what was going on there - now we know!

Thursday crews laid tracks for a funicular, otherwise known as an incline, at the John Ball Zoo. The tram will transport people to the top of the hill behind the zoo where a large tree house will have a panoramic view of downtown. Thanks to a 5 million dollar donation, we can now "ride the train at the john ball zoo"!

It should be open to visitors by June.  John Ball Zoo just got that much better! I'm excited! The Detroit Zoo doesn't have one of these babys! See you at the zoo!
