The countdown is on to Fox’s first attempt at a live musical production. The network that gave us “Glee” is now gearing up for “Grease: Live”.

Let’s be flat out honest; if the first pics are any indication, then the casting was right on the money. Julianne Hough looks like a sweet and innocent Sandy one second and the naughty girl the next. Vanessa Hudgens is Rizzo in the production and Aaron Tveit takes on the role of Danny Zuko, made famous by John Travolta.

Other cast members include Carlos PenaVega as Kenickie, Keke Palmer as Marty, and Carly Rae Jepsen as our favorite beauty school dropout, Frenchie. The casting director needs to have his/her name as big as the stars for the excellent choices!

Before you get all excited about seeing a “reproduction” of the 1978 movie, here’s a heads up. “Grease: Live” will be based heavily on the original, and much raunchier original stage production, which starredBarry Bostwick.

The show airs January 31st on Fox from 7 to 10pm, on both coasts. Sorry West Coast, you get a tape delay.
