The Grand Rapids Griffins have won us over with their never-say-die attitude, and their love of McNuggets, and now they will share the love with us Friday with a victory parade to celebrate their Calder Cup Championship.

The Griffins have finalized plans for their victory parade, which will launch from Van Andel Arena Friday afternoon, and wind up at Rosa Parks Circle.

The parade will begin on Ottawa St. on the west side of Van Andel Arena at 4 p.m. All Griffins players and coaches will ride in the back of black, red and silver pickups provided by Fox Ford, with a Zamboni and other team vehicles joining the caravan.

From the arena, the parade is slated to proceed west on Weston St., right (north) on Market Ave./Monroe Ave., right on Monroe Center, right on Ottawa Ave. and right on Louis St. before concluding at Rosa Parks Circle.

The rally will feature a videoboard showing highlights of Tuesday’s cup-clinching victory plus a giveaway of 2,500 championship t-shirts, and it will include several speakers and an introduction of each member of the 2017 Calder Cup champions.

Bring plenty of McNuggets and squid to toss!!
