...County is 15th! In a new ranking from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Leelanau County up north is the healthiest, followed by Ottawa County! In West Michigan, Kent County is 15th (up from 22 last year) Allegan was 18th, Barry 21st, Ionia 26th, and Muskegon 63rd.

The 2012 County Health Rankings report ranks Michigan counties according to their summary measures of health outcomes and health factors. Counties also receive a rank for mortality, morbidity, health behaviors, clinical care, social and economic factors, and the physical environment. Those having high ranks are estimated to be the “healthiest.”

So in other words, we live in a pretty healthy area, considering how big the GR Metro is. The Detroit metro (Wayne County 81, Oakland County 16, Monroe County 38 and Macomb County 41) didn't fare so well. Go West Michigan!
