How Long Are Those On-Ramps to 131 Going To Be Closed?

Good question, and the answer depends on which on-ramps you're talking about.

Here's the official time table, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

• The eastbound and westbound I-196 ramps to southbound US-131 will be closed from July 7 through August 27, 2014. The ramps from I-196 to Ottawa Avenue will remain open to downtown Grand Rapids. To access southbound US-131 from I-196, motorists will need to follow the signed detour route via northbound US-131 to Ann Street.  

• The southbound US-131 off ramp to Pearl Street will be closed July 7 at 1:00 AM to July 30.
• Southbound US-131 will have a temporary double lane closure from Ann Street to Bridge Street July 7 at 7:30 PM to July 8 at 6:00 AM.  This closure will implement a traffic shift for US-131 over Bridge Street for bridge repairs.
• At 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, southbound US-131 will have two lanes open from Leonard Street to Wealthy Street. At Leonard Street, the southbound US-131 far left lane will be an exit-only lane to eastbound I-196.

• Bridge Street motorists will experience daily EB and WB lane closures under US-131. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction daily for bridge rehabilitation work from July 7 at 7:00am to August 27.
