I'm sure this happens all the time. A celebrity feels their name has been usurped for less than positive notoriety and they file suit to remove said name from product or service. Chubby Checker did just that.

But this case was probably a little different than most. This story "Singer Chubby Checker and HP settle penis measuring app lawsuit" explains exactly what you are thinking.

"American singer Chubby Checker has settled a controversial trademark lawsuit with Hewlett-Packard over an app which allowed users to measure the size of their penis.

The singer, whose real name is Ernest Evans, had previously claimed that the sexual nature of the Chubby Checker, an app for HP's Palm OS platform, had caused "irreparable" damage to his legacy and career."

HP had an app called the "Chubby Checker". Really. You can't make this stuff up. See this is why the kids should have a little music history lesson every once in awhile.

The Chubby Checker... really.
