Why watch just a few famous landmarks get blown up when you can pay the same amount to see twice as many (maybe more?) of our beloved manmade monuments explode? 20th Century Fox is bringing not one, but both Independence Day films to theaters on June 23, giving you a chance to test your patriotic loyalty to Jeff Goldblum with an epic double feature.

Independence Day: Resurgence hits theaters on June 24, but on June 23, the original 1996 film will play at 5:00 p.m. local time followed by a 3D screening of Resurgence at 8:00 p.m. So if you’d prefer to see the new sequel in two dimensions, you’re going to have to buy a separate ticket. Speaking of which, those tickets are now available for early purchase at Fandango and MovieTickets.com. The double feature runs for approximately four hours and 24 minutes, but that’s a small price to pay for the continued freedom of mankind from extraterrestrial domination.

After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the Aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.

Independence Day: Resurgence features the return of Bill Pullman, Brent Spiner, Vivica A. Fox and Judd Hirsch, and co-stars Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Oh, and aliens. Lots of pesky aliens.
