Intersection of Michigan and Fuller Set to Open Saturday
The two-week reconstruction of one of Grand Rapids' busiest intersections will be finished a week earlier than planned.
The City of Grand Rapids expects to open the intersection of Michigan St. and Fuller Ave. this Saturday at noon.
The intersection was closed on Saturday, April 11 at 4:00pm.
The construction was expected to take nearly two weeks to finish, but crews have been working 10-12 hour shifts and there has been good weather which has helped the construction go more quickly than expected.
Police have been in the area quite a bit over the past week, ticketing drivers who sought to avoid the construction by cutting through parking lots.
