We know that Tony Stark's Iron Man suit is powerful—when fully charged, it can lift over 100 tons—but, we probably didn't realize just how heavy it is. The original suit in the first ‘Iron Man’ movie weighed over 90 lbs. That's big, hot costume to have to act in all day. And, to think, it was almost not even Robert Downey, Jr. underneath all that armor. Find out which other actors made the cut, and a lot more, in the latest invincible installment of You Think You Know Movies!

You've probably all heard the story that Tom Cruise was originally attached to play Iron Man many years ago, back before Marvel even controlled the character. It's hard now to imagine anyone BUT Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark, but Marvel wasn't really super pumped about hiring an actor who, at the time, was coming off a stint in jail, a serious drug habit and numerous brushes with the law. Other actors they considered included Sam Rockwell (who would later join the ‘Iron Man’ franchise as villain Justin Hammer), Timothy Olyphant and even Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman. (And, it wasn't just Tony Stark. Marvel offered Rachel McAdams the role of Pepper Potts, but she turned it down.)

‘You Think You Know Movies?’ is a ScreenCrush original series that dives deep into the cinematic worlds of your favorite movies and freeze frames a few tidbits you might not have known. We’ve already tackled ‘Star Wars,’ ‘The Avengers’ and ‘Spider-Man,’ but now, it’s time to catch up with this metalhead for an Iron Man episode.
