When you think of the grunge, you probably think of Nirvana. When you think of Nirvana, you probably think of "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Well, you're not alone. According to a study by Mick Grierson at the University of London, the Nirvana classic is the most iconic song ever.

Based on a number of technical factors, including the tunes’ key, beats per minute, chord variety and lyrics, the 1991 hit is the "most iconic."

“The study takes human judgment, tries to quantify it, and then declares it objective and universal," Gierson explained. Here's the top 10 most iconic songs, according to this study:

1. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" - Nirvana

2. "Imagine" - John Lennon

3. "One" - U2

4. "Billie Jean" - Michael Jackson

5. "Bohemian Rhapsody" - Queen

6. "Hey Jude" - The Beatles

7. "Like A Rolling Stone" - Bob Dylan

8. "I Can’t Get No Satisfaction" - Rolling Stones

9. "God Save The Queen" - Sex Pistols
