Like any born and raised Michigander, I'm a die hard hockey fan. But I've never seen anything like this play from a Russian hockey league.

During a penalty shot, the skater places the puck on his stick and throws it into the goal like a javelin. WTF?

This is Vladimir Tkachyov of the Kontinental Hockey League's Ak Bars Kazan in Russia. Friday he decided to spice up a skills competition at a family event and took an interesting tact to score a shootout penalty shot.

Nothing will top this, ever.

He somehow managed to balance the puck on his stick and threw it like a javelin for the goal. That was all sorts of creative and needs to be allowed.

I’ve never seen anything like that. Tkachyov deserves all the credit for his innovative skills.

FYI -- This shot would NOT BE LEGAL in a real shootout. So don't try this at home, kids.
