Whether you knew it or not, there is a Toy Hall of Fame, and this year's nominees seeking induction include the American Girl dolls, everyone's favorite construction game, Jenga and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figures.

Another year, another batch of toys vying for their chance to get into the Toy Hall of Fame. The Strong’s National Toy Hall of Fame in Rochester, New York announced it's list of 12 finalists for this year's class.

American Girl dolls, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, spinning tops, Twister, Wiffle Ball, Battleship, puppets, Jenga, coloring books, Playmobil, Super Soaker and scooters all made the final list.

A committee will get together to decide the winner, based on four different criteria: Icon-status,  longevity, discovery, and innovation.

Last year, three different toys were inducted into the hall of fame: miniature green army men, the Rubik's Cube and bubbles. This year's winners will be announced on November 5th.

If you had to pick your favorite toy out of this group of finalists, which would it be? I'm going with wiffle ball, because we made up a game using it when we were kids called 'Strike Out' which was a mish mash of baseball and wrestling. Basically it went like this: if you hit the ball into fair territory, you had to fight for your way around the bases using your plastic bat. Hey, it was Saginaw, we beat each other up a lot.
