Jennifer Hudson may soon be getting some R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

In case you missed it, TheWrap.com reported earlier this week that J.Hud was in talks to play Aretha Franklin in an upcoming big-screen biopic, from the same people who produced this week’s hit “Straight Outta Compton.”

Hudson hasn’t officially signed on to anything yet, but her team has acknowledged that there have been some discussions about her playing the Queen of Soul.

The biopic, which so far doesn’t have a title, will follow Aretha’s rise to fame in the 60s and 70s and also explore her relationship with her abusive husband.

Hudson won an Academy Award for her performance in 'Dreamgirls', which featured this emotional moment.
