Rock legend and founding member of Creedence Clearwater Revival, John Fogerty, will be sharing some his knowledge and experience with a new generation of musicians.

Fogerty says he's "hugely honored" to get the invite, explaining that when he was young "the idea of a popular music program -- at USC no less -- was unthinkable."  He adds that it's "so inspiring" to see how the school and its students "have embraced this important and influential part of our cultural lives."  The rocker says it's also special to him on a personal level, because his son is one of this year's graduates.

The satellite ceremony for Thornton will take place on the USC campus in Los Angeles on May 16th, immediately after the university's main graduation event.
