It's worth noting that classic rockers will continue to be featured on U.S. Postal Service stamps.

Janis Joplin and John Lennon are among the rockers expected to get a stamp released in their honor, with Joplin's expected later this year.

The Washington Post received a leak of a document by the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee containing a breakdown of the Postal Service's approved subjects through 2016.

The Music Icon series is also expected to include James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and a reissued stamp for Elvis Presley. He had a stamp out in 1993.

No dates have been determined yet for Lennon, Jim Morrison, Roy Orbison and a few others.

Earlier this week, the U.S. Postal Service issued its 29th stamp for Literary Arts, honoring author Ralph Ellison. He wrote the 1952 novel "Invisible Man," and died in April 1994 in New York.
