John Mellencamp will return to the road this summer.

The veteran Hoosier singer announced a handful of dates in the United States and Canada.

The tour will begin with two nights at the Winstar Casino in Thackerville, Okla. on June 20 and 21. He will play eight more shows before winding up at the Colosseum at Caesars Windsor Casino in Windsor, Ontario.

According to the schedule, there are two gaps of 11 or more days in July, so it's very possible he will add more concerts in the coming weeks. There are currently no Michigan dates for the tour.

Tickets for the Thackerville and Cheyenne shows are currently on sale. Visit Mellencamp's website for complete information.

Back in December, Mellencamp revealed that he's looking to shake things up with regard to his choice of concert venues. “I want to play places I haven’t played since the 1980s," he said. "I want to go to Hays, Kan. and Youngstown, Ohio. In the 1990s I kept playing these same f---in’ sheds and arenas. It was a drag. I’d walk in and realize I’d been in the dressing room fifty times before.”
