Ron is trying to achieve his goal of becoming an amateur boxer, jumping into the ring for the first time at age 43.  Jordan is his trainer, and in case you haven't heard, a pretty good boxer in his own right.

Do you have a dream or an item to knock off of your bucket list?

Meet Ron Buckner.

As I mentioned a couple of weeks back, Ron has always been a boxing fan, and when he finally had some free time, at age 43, he decided to give it a go.   That's right.  Having never fought before, he was going to get in the ring at 43.

The great thing is Ron's trainer is Hudsonville boxer, Jordan Shimmell, who is currently the USBO Cruiserweight champion.

Ron and Jordan joined the show and we covered the obvious topics like "Why?" and "What does your wife think?" as well as other things about Ron's quest to get punched, and Jordan's quest to become a world champion.

They also discuss the West Michigan Golden Gloves finals, which wind up Saturday night at the Grand River Armory on 44th Street SE, and the fact that Jordan's Grandfather looks like he could still fight.
