Journey have returned to the spotlight in recent years and it seems former frontman Steve Perry wants to get in on the action. Perry left the group in the 1990s to pursue a solo career and it seems his former bandmembers have no plans to welcome him back.

Journey founder Neal Schon recently shot down any rumors that Perry may rejoin the band, reminding fans that it was Perry's idea to quit.

"[Steve] seems to be enjoying the spotlight a little too much. The fact is he's no longer the lead singer. He walked out," Schon tells Britian's Daily Star.

Journey's current resurgence has been fueled by the continued success of their iconic anthem "Don't Stop Believin'." The song has been featured in current television shows ranging from the Sopranos to Glee.

A cover of the track also served as the theme song for a viral web video supporting World Series Champions the San Francisco Giants.
