Following the shooting spree that claimed six lives in Kalamazoo, communities across the country are uniting support the city.

Players and attendees at the K-Wings game in Toledo on Sunday night held a moment of silence to honor the victims and their families, WWMT reports.

The teams lined up on center ice, alternating players. Later, the K-Wings posted a picture to Facebook with the caption,

In tragedy there are no teams. There is only mankind."

The Toledo Walleyes held a jersey auction, raising $8,400 that will be donated to the victims' families.

K-Wings Coach Nick Bootland said after the game,

We have heavy hearts today and I know our team was up late with concern for our community and what was going on."
