We have a lot of holidays here in the United States that are centered around our military in some way, and sometimes it's hard to keep track of what each one is actually about. Since this weekend is Memorial Day weekend, we decided to clarify things for you.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day is always observed on the last Monday in May (this year on May 29). It's pretty inappropriate to wish anyone a "Happy Memorial Day" because this is the holiday that is observed in remembrance of members of the service who have passed away.

Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day is observed on the third Saturday of May (this year it was on May 20). Armed Forces Day is to celebrate current members of the Armed Forces.

Veterans Day

Veteran's Day is observed on November 11 each year, and is in celebration and observance of all who have served.
