Lowell Police Department Warns Residents of Light & Power Scam

The Lowell Police Department would like to notify area residents that a telephone scam is being targeted at Lowell Light & Power customers.

The caller states that they are from Lowell Light & Power and tells the customers if they don’t pay, their power is being shut off. 

They leave a call back number of 877-432-9325, which tells them to press prompt #1, that connects them to “George”, who states he is from Lowell Light & Power. However, the City of Lowell does not have an employee by that name.

This is purely a scam where “George” is trying to get money from customers of Lowell Light and Power. The City of Lowell has expressed that you SHOULD NOT send George any money.
