Summer's almost over and you'd think that would mean that construction season would be coming to an end, but that's definitely not the case. M-6 is now closed in both directions between Wilson Ave. and I-96.

The eastbound lanes of the highly traveled stretch of roadway are expected to reopen on September 15, but the westbound lanes (which closed on Saturday, August 26) are expected to remain closed until November 6.

The closures are part of an effort to repair the stretch of road, which has been named one of the worst in the state of Michigan.

Detours for both directions have been posted.
