The man that is accused of stabbing restaurant owner Joey Vitale to death will go to trial and faces life in prison.

According to WZZM, Tony Devern Streets, Jr. is charged with 3 counts including murder, armed robbery and carjacking. Testimony heard by a Kent County Circuit Court judge determined there was enough evidence for a trial.

Streets was inside Burton Heights Pizza on Burton Street SW when he was asked to leave for causing a disturbance at the pizzeria. Streets then grabbed a knife and stabbed Vitale. While leaving Streets had another confrontation with a man then carjacked another man down the street from the pizzeria.

Vitale tried to drive himself to a hospital, but because of the extreme bleeding wound up crashing his vehicle just minutes from Mercy Health St. Mary's hospital. An Ambulance took Vitale to the hospital where he later died from the wounds.

33-year-old Streets is no stranger to criminal activity with a record that begins in his childhood. At age 10, he was already accused of sexually assaulting a young girl. Before Streets was 18 he already had 18 charges from larceny to domestic violence.

Streets is a career criminal and if convicted, will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
