Joaquín García has taken playing hooky to a whole new level. The government engineer from Cádiz, Spain skipped work for six years.

I suppose that's better than going to work and not getting paid, right Milton?

The 69-year-old had been receiving his salary the entire time. The best part? He was only found out while being considered for an award for 20 years of "loyal service."

The investigation into García determined he hadn't been to his office for at least six years—and possibly as long as 14 years — and had done "absolutely no work" between 2007 and 2010. He was supposed to be supervising the construction of a water treatment plant, the BBC reports.

But the water company thought the city council was in charge of García, while the city council thought the water company was in charge of him.

García, who is now retired, has been fined the equivalent of $30,000 dollars, which is less than his annual salary. For what it's worth, he claims he was the victim of workplace bullying and came to work everyday only to find he had no work to do.
