Maurice White, co-founder of Earth, Wind, & Fire died in his sleep Thursday morning at the age of 74, according to TMZ.

Maurice had fought a long, hard battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was diagnosed over two decades ago and was forced to stop touring back in 1994.

Maurice's brother, Verdine, is also a band member.

Thought Maurice hadn't toured with the band in more than twenty years, he still remained in all of the decisions regarding the band.

Earth, Wind, & Fire has a tour stop in Grand Rapids at Van Andel Arena on April 15 along with the band Chicago.
