It was about a month ago when Meijer announced it was recalling its Colby and Colby Jack cheeses, but now that recall has been expanded to the Meijer brand Artisan Made Natural Muenster Cheese. The recall also includes their pre-wrapped ham subs. The concern is potential cross-contamination with listeria.

Natural Muenster Cheese:

  • Located on "cheese island" in the store's deli area
  • Expiration dates of: March 28, 2017; May 13, 2017; and June 10, 2017.

Pre-Wrapped Ham Sub on Artisan White Baguette:

  • Located in "grab-and-go" deli cases.
  • Sell-by date between November 2 - December 30, 2016.

No illnesses have been reported from either the cheese or the sub sandwich.

Meijer was originally informed of a potential listeria risk on February 10 from their supplier, MDS Foods. These newly-recalled foods were processed on the same line.

If you bought the sandwich I would assume you've already ate it but if you have the cheese stop eating it and throw it away or return it to Meijer's customer service desk for a full refund.
