Memorial Day brings a chance to enjoy a long weekend with the unofficial start of summer in West Michigan, but it's important to remember why we have Memorial Day.

Caledonia: Ceremony at Holy Corners Cemetery at 11:15am. Parade at noon on Main Street to Lakeside Cemetery.

Douglas: Parade at 10am.

Grand Haven: Parade at 9:30am. Starts at Washington/6th, heads west, ends at Harbor Ave.

Grand Rapids: Parade is Tuesday, May 30 at 7pm.

Grandville: Ceremony at 9am at Wedgwood Park. Parade at 9:15am from Wilson Ave. to Prairie St. to the Grandville Cemetery.

Holland: Parade at 9:30am.

Hudsonville: Ceremony at 10am at Veteran's Park.

Jamestown: Parade at 10am.

Jenison: Parade at 9am on Baldwin St. from 20th Ave. to Cottonwood Dr.

Rockford: Parade at 9am.

Saugatuck: Parade at 9am.

Walker: Parade at noon.

Wyoming: Hour-long ceremony begins at 7pm at Veterans Memorial Garden.

Zeeland: Parade at 9am on Main St.
