Closed Michigan Campgrounds To Stay Open

Here's some good news for us camping fans here in the Great State of Michigan.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has leased the first of 23 state forest campgrounds it can't afford to keep open this year, so more places to camp!

However, it says it doesn't have enough money to keep open 23 of the state forest campgrounds. Those tend to be far more rustic, with pit toilets and no electrical hookups. So many townships are offering to run them and keep them open!
