In the year 2001, the biggest movies were beginning of both the Harry Potter and Lord of the Ring series, Kelly Ripa joined Regis Philbin on Live!, Madonna released a new Album called 'Music', and the job scene was hot here in Michigan.

While, this year may not be so impressive at the theatre box office, and Kelly had issues with Michael Strahan leaving the show, and Madonna did her final tour (with live nation it seems). A lot of things have changed since 2001, but the job market in Michigan is hot like we're kicking off a new millennium.

Despite the reduction in the unemployment rate thanks to 8,000 fewer people on the unemployment rolls, total employment also decreased by 20,000 over the month, the state Department of Technology, Management & Budget said.

but there is still work to do.

“In Michigan, we lost 766,000 jobs between 2001 and 2010," Gov. Rick Snyder said in a statement Wednesday. "But in the past five and a half years, we have reinvented our state, creating more than 475,000 private sector jobs and decreasing Michigan’s unemployment rate to its lowest point in 15 years."

I can attest that finding a house or apartment in West Michigan isn't easy. As homes get offers as soon as they go up, it's good to see that people are also having an easy time finding jobs to pay for those new houses/apartments.
