A suspect in the fatal Jan. 31 shooting of a Michigan State University from Middleville in his East Lansing apartment has been arrested in Grand Rapids, according to Grand Rapids and East Lansing police.

Marquay Shaquilleedris McCoy, 19 was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at a Grand Rapids residence and was being held today in the Kent County Jail, authorities said today.

He is wanted on Michigan Department of Corrections parole violation charges, and is a suspect in the homicide investigation in East Lansing, East Lansing police said in a statement.

Dominique James "DJ" Nolff, a 20-year-old Michigan State University student, was pronounced dead Feb. 1 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing from multiple gunshot wounds. A second victim in the incident, a 20-year-old Grand Haven man, was treated for a single gunshot wound and released from Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, authorities said.

The shooting was on a Friday night was at 8:48 p.m. in Cedar Village Apartments.

East Lansing police said at the time that they believed the shooting was not "a random act."
