Whether it's biking or hiking, we are blessed throughout West Michigan to have miles and miles of great trails available for our use.

Celebrate Michigan Trails Week 2014 by joining in one of the local events scheduled, including a Fall Harvest Hike on the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail.

Michigan's great quality of life revolves around our ability to access the natural beauty of our state. The trail system in our region is extensive and diverse, with flat rail trails, hilly mountain biking trails, and remote trails like the North Country Trail at our beckon call.

Michigan Trails Week 2014 runs from this Saturday, September 20 through September 27. There's no better time than early fall to enjoy the cool weather and the changing leaves out on the trail.

Area events include the Fall Harvest Hike on September 27 at 7pm in Belmont and the Trail Week Challenge in Oceana County along the Hart-Montague Trail.

But the best way to celebrate Trails Week -- get out your bike, your hiking shoes, or even your horse and hit the trail to show your appreciation for having them here.
