How you feel about your job and how much you share those thoughts on social media might have something to do with where you live. New research from Hloom, a company that provides free Microsoft templates, used Twitter to figure out where people hate their jobs most and tweet about it.

They checked for phrases like “I’m quitting my job” and “Hate my job” and “Hate my coworkers” in tweets and found that Ohio topped the list for having the most people tweeting about how much they hate their jobs. The other states with the most job haters were Delaware, Michigan, Texas and Arizona.

But when it comes to cities that show their job dissatisfaction, only one of the top 10 was in Ohio. It was Columbus, which came in tenth. Houston was the city with the most job-hating tweets and L.A. was close behind.

So what makes these places so awful for workers? Hloom says it could be retail. Turns out, all the states with the most people tweeting their employment agony have retail as their most common job, except Delaware. And anyone who’s ever worked retail would totally get it. That job really does suck. It’s also the most common job in the top cities list.

The study also figured out where people use their 140 characters to share their love for their jobs. And more people in Nevada sent job-loving tweets, followed by Texas, Ohio and Arizona, which were also in the top five for job hating states on Twitter.

How often do people tweet about hating their jobs? I just searched 'hate my job' on Twitter and thousands of tweets came up, and they average about 11 new ones per minute. That's some serious hate.

There's even a song about it.
