When kids go off to college it’s natural for parents to miss them, and it should be expected that kids get so busy they start forgetting to check in. Well, one Pennsylvania mom was having none of it, and actually called out her son on Facebook for forgetting to call her.

Last week mom Ann Pinto McCarney posted a video complaining to her son Liam that he’s only called her once since he left home to go to Gettysburg college. "Do you remember me? I'm your mommy! I gave birth to you," McCarney said in the video. "When you're in your dorm at night, do you wonder who fed you for the first 18 years of your life?"

Needless to say, the video hit a nerve with other moms, and has since been viewed more than one-million times. It also apparently worked, since Liam wound up calling his parents just one day after his mom posted it, only his second call since he left home, and the first was to ask his dad to send him his Game Boy games.

While some may think McCarney went to a bit of an extreme to get a phone call, she admits she was a “hot mess” when both Liam and her older daughter left for school, and she didn’t want to feel like she had been “completely erased” from her son’s life. She added, “I think it struck a cord.”

I think my late mother has placed her spirit in Ann. I remember getting explicit instructions on how to use a phone after not calling for three weeks when I was at CMU.

Rock on, Ann, moms the world over are with you!

Well guess it's safe to say that Liam McCarney is well adjusted at college! That being said a Mammas gotta call him out!
