Being a Michigander, sometimes it's hard to say those words, but we know spring will make an appearance soon, trust me.

As I discussed before, not everyone goes away for Spring Break. Lots of families stay home, and it can be a challenge to find things to do. That is why I'm here to help.

The Boys & Girls Club will have some great fun going over spring break. They have struck up a partnership with Ebony Road Players over spring break where kids will partake in a short theater camp, a floor hockey tournament with the Grand Rapids Griffins, and community day at Buffalo Wild Wings--just to name a few of the fun activities. CLICK HERE for more information.

On April 4, the Grand Rapids Downtown Market will host Lil Green Thumbs: Spring Break in the Greenhouse, and it's a free event for kids and families, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Kids can get the inside scoop on all things related to plants and bugs while enjoying a tropical climate. They'll get to examining bugs up close with magnifying glasses in the “Bug Zone,” reading plant and nature books from Kent District Library and even making take-home greenhouse crafts including peanut butter bird feeders, plant pails and coffee.

The Grand Rapids Downtown Market Greenhouse is at 435 Ionia Ave SW, Grand Rapids. Log on to http://downtownmarketgr.com/classes-events/lil-green-thumbs-1 for all the information, or call Sarah Suydam, 586-707-2724, sarah@burchpartners.com
