The site averaged data from FBI Uniform crime reports on frequency of aggravated assaults, as well as Facebook mentions about Black Friday sales, to make their determination and folks in Arkansas and Tennessee may want to stay home if they’re worried about their Black Friday safety. In fact, Tennessee seems to be the most violent overall, with the highest rate of aggravated assaults, 453.2 incidents per 100,000 people, while Maine had the fewest, 66.9 incidents per 100,000 people.

As for Black Friday enthusiasm, folks in West Virginia and Kentucky seem to be most excited about it, with 10% of residents expressing interest in the shopping day, while less than 2% of anyone in California and Hawaii feels the same.
