81-year-old Marilyn Vleck of Nebraska always wanted to be a Girl Scout, but when she was younger, her family couldn’t afford the fee, so she had to put that dream on hold.

But she never gave up hope, and when it was clear she lived her entire life in line with the Girl Scout credo, Marilyn was given her badge.

It took several decades, but that dream has finally come true. To celebrate her 81st birthday, Marilyn became a Girl Scout.

It started when her sister, Donna Lahoda, contacted the Girl Scouts of Nebraska, hoping to get a used uniform to give to her sister for her birthday. Instead, the organization did her one better and officially inducted her into the organization.

I suppose the next step is to order some Thin Mints from her.
