A new TV network titled Pop is launching in 2015.

And, no, it's not all about soda!

If you know anything about me, you know I love fast food (White Castle), Chicago sports (go Hawks!) and I am a big fan of media and TV.

So, when a new TV network goes on the air, I'm interested.

We have had some cable TV changes this year. Starting with Destination America and the Biography Channel becoming FYI. Next up is the HUB Network changing to Discovery Family after the first of the year, and the TV Guide Network becoming Pop.

The TV Guide Network? That's still around?

Back in the day, when cable started, having a dedicated channel to news and weather and the TV Guide worked.

But now with cable boxes and the internet, those channels have had to change with the times.

TV Guide Network, or TVGN, is now changing.

They stopped showing the guide part last year, and now concentrate on sitcoms and movies, and are like a regular cable channel. So now they are dropping the TV Guide association all together. "POP Announces Initial Line-up of Original Programming for Early 2015 Launch" explains:

Pop, a new network celebrating the fun of being a fan which announced its rebranding last month from TVGN, will premiere more than 400 hours of fan-fueled original programming next year, including six new original series, an exclusive after-show, live red carpet specials during the awards season, and a curated line-up of television fan favorites. Launching in early 2015, Pop will provide viewers with a multi-platform destination that creates content around the things popping in fan culture."

Can it compete with established brands like Comedy Central and E!? Only time will tell. Here's a question, and your answer might seal it's fate.

Do you know where TVGN is on your cable TV service provider?
