Like many athletes, San Diego Chargers linebacker Brock Hekking has the ability to eat an enormous amount of food. He’s got to keep the engine fueled, right?

Well, Hekking took things to an extreme when he sat down at Phil’s BBQ in San Diego and pretty much inhaled 21,000 calories in less than an hour.

That’s enough food to kill a normal man, isn’t it?

The 6'3", 250-pound rookie -- who is currently on injured reserve -- put down two racks of beef ribs, two racks of baby back ribs and one whole chicken.

That’s not all. He also chowed down on two pulled pork sandwiches and one giant sausage.

But really, what meal would be complete without sides, like one full pound of mac and cheese, one large order of both fries and onion rings, some coleslaw and corn on the cob, all washed down with 64-ounces of Mountain Dew.

If you’re going to overdose on some food, what would it be? What food fritzes you out and causes you to lose control?

Unfortunately, we’re not burning a boatload of calories sitting behind our desks, pushing papers. Enjoy your salad and diet soda, buddy.

By the way – Hekking sports an insane mullet.
