Odd/Even Parking Enforcement To Start Again With Snowfall

If parking in Grand Rapids wasn’t horrible enough, the Grand Rapids Police Department is starting to enforce the odd-even parking regulations even worse then before. Signs are posted all over the city, mostly near the downtown areas, so they can regulate which side of the road you can park on depending on the date. These signs can be confusing so GRPD is asking people to “think ahead before you go to bed”.
The signs state no parking on the odd number addressed side of the road on odd days between the hours of 1am-6pm, and the opposite for the even numbered days. This means that after 6pm you may park on either side, but by 1am the odd-even law is enforced.
Following GRPD’s advice, after 6pm on an even day, I recommend moving your car to the odd numbered side of the road. On an odd day after 6pm, I would park on the even side of the road to avoid having to move your vehicle before 1am. Any questions on these new, crazy, and confusing parking rules can be answered by the Grand Rapids Police Department.
