One Of West Michigan’s Hottest Summers On Record Is Over… Sort Of

I'm here to tell you, this was one of the hottest summers I can ever remember. Sure we complain about the Michigan weather often, since it's SO lovely and average. (Please note the dripping sarcasm) But really, like for real, this has been one of the hottest summers ever in West Michigan.

And when I say really It's been one of the hottest summers ever--more than 40 days of over 89 degrees--I have actual people who study this sort of thing back me up. Like Chief Meteorologist George Lessens from WZZM TV 13. He is a student of the weather, and that';s good for us, the weather laypeople, so we don't have to try and remember weather records.

George spells out the weather records set and obliterated this summer HERE: "August & summer 2012 weather stats for Grand Rapids" Now I realize Summer only feels like its over, with school and football starting, but it actually ends September 21st. It also will be cooling down this weekend as well. Bring on the cooler temps and sweatshirts!
