Opossum Carries 15 Babies on Her Back
15 babies is a LOT of mouths to feed, and bodies to carry. This mama opossum has her work cut out for her.
My daughter's grandfather captured this video of a mother opossum transporting 15 baby opossums on her back. Amazing!
You gotta feel for this opossum. She's going about her business just trying to get all of these kiddos home from a fun day of eating ... whatever opossums eat.
Hmm, seems like I remember my grandfather's favorite saying being "Happier than a opossum eating a persimmon."
So yeah, after a day of eating a bunch of persimmons, mama opossum is not only nursing a foodbaby but carrying all of her babies on her back. 15 of them!
Tough life for mama opossum.
I've written the word opossum enough for it to look weird to me. Why is there an 'O' at the beginning. It's not pronounced "Oh, possum" it's pronounced possum. English is weird.
