Grammy Award-winning singers Patti LaBelle and Ne-Yo, vocal groups Fifth Harmony and The Tenors, artist Steve Miller, pop duo Nico & Vinz and country singer Chely Wright will all perform at the 2014 National Christmas Tree Lighting.

Actor-producer Tom Hanks and singer-songwriter, actress and producer Rita Wilson are co-hosting the ceremony. Wilson, who has been married to Hanks since 1988, will also perform during the show.

This year's National Christmas Tree Lighting is Thursday (Dec. 4) on The White House Ellipse at President's Park in Washington, D.C. The ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. EST.

The event will be streamed live at TheNationalTree.org and will also air on PBS-affiliated public television stations throughout December.

President Barack Obama and his family are expected to attend and take part.

Presented by the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation, the National Christmas Tree Lighting kicks off a four-week holiday celebration at President's Park. This year's ceremony marks the 92nd annual National Christmas Tree Lighting, a holiday tradition started by President Calvin Coolidge in 1923.

Girls from across the U.S. will experience the beauty of code by lighting up holiday trees at President’s Park. Beginning on Dec. 2, girls can head to Google's Made With Code to code a design for one of 56 state and territory trees, including Michigan.
