An exhibit devoted to the life and career of Paul Simon will open at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland tomorrow. Simon has been inducted into the Hall of Fame twice: as a member of Simon and Garfunkel and for his solo career.

“When Mr. Simon visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a tour last year, our idea to honor him with an exhibit was ignited and the process of creating this exciting new exhibition began,” Greg Harris, CEO and president of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, said in a press release.

'Paul Simon: Words & Music' brings together more than 80 items from Simon's career, which began in 1957 with 'Hey Schoolgirl,' a single he and Art Garfunkel recorded under the name Tom & Jerry. Items include handwritten lyrics, guitars, performance videos, outfit, rare photos and other items of importance.

In a first for the Hall, the exhibit's narrative is driven by the artist himself, with hours of interview footage used to guide the visitor through Simon's life and his creative process. The exhibit is timed to correspond with the 50th anniversary of 'Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.,' Simon & Garfunkel's 1964 debut album.

"I was very curious to see this Paul Simon exhibit," said longtime friend Graham Nash, who first met Simon in 1966 after the Hollies recorded their own version of his 'I Am a Rock.' "I think every musician worth his salt is going to want to see how Paul did it. And one of the things that was so nice about the exhibit is seeing his very first guitar and ... his progression as a songwriter ... I think it's going to be very inspiring."
