Phil Collins is finally ready to tell his life story. The former Genesis frontman has just signed a deal with Penguin Random House to release his autobiography next October.

“Several times over the last few years I have been asked to write a biography but never felt that the time was right - until now,” Collins said in his announcement. "Having found the right publisher in Penguin Random House I am ready to go on record about my life in music with all the highs and all the lows and to tell the story from my point of view, warts and all!"

Collins’ publisher called the book “one of the last great untold stories,” and added that the stuff he’s already seen has been “simply breathtaking.”

Collins is in exclusive company in the rock business. He's one of only three performers to sell over 100 million recordings as the member of a band, and as a solo act. Do you know who the other two are? That would be Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney.

This is Phil's second book. His first being a collector's guide to Alamo memorabilia, which he published back in 2012. Collins donated his entire Alamo collection to the state of Texas in 2014.
